A Printer with CISS, is a very useful tool to save a lot on ink costs. The Continuous Ink Supply System (CISS) technology, albeit not so new, is a very popular add-on being used in inkjet printers today. Probably the first question that comes to mind when purchasing a new printer is: “can this printer be converted?”. Printer conversion is the process of getting a printer with CISS installed.
What does a Printer with CISS really look like, and how does it work? Kindly take a look at figure 1.1. In here is shown a Canon Pixma iP2770 with CISS installed. Without the CISS, it’s just an ordinary printer, but with the CISS, a printer with CISS becomes a short-run industrial printing machine. It may not be able to keep up with a real industrial printer, but for small jobs, it can do work like magic. Ever tried printing a 500 sheets (1 ream) worth of documents on an inkjet printer? Sounds impossible if you’re using original cartridges, but a Printer with CISS can easily do this for you. It probably can’t print a few thousand at a time, but a ream isn’t a problem. We’re talking about cheap printers after all ranging from Php 2000 to 5000 most of the time ~ industrial printers would cost a little lower than a million pesos so really they’re on a different league.
What’s the main advantage of installing a printer with CISS? First and foremost, a Printer with CISS (also known as CIFS in some countries for Continuous Ink Flow System) allows you to save up to 98% on ink costs. Now we say “up to” because this can be based on different computations such as, if you’re using original or remanufactured cartridges. Why do we say up to 98% and not 90%? Coz here at Danpro InkMasters, we actually did the math, and printed hundres of pages to prove our point, and the computation still says 98% not 90%. Need proof? Click here.
Now that we got that out of the way, let’s take a look at how a printer with CISS actually works. CISS doesn’t mean unlimited ink; it simply means that you can use a lot more ink at any given time compared to using either original or refilled cartridges. You may think of a printer with CISS as an automatic ink refill attachment. A printer with CISS allows you the option to conveniently refill the ink through the modified ink tanks, rather than depending on the inks contained in the cartridges.
Having a printer with CISS is a lot better than having your cartridges refilled. It’s more convenient with regards to time and effort. If you’ve been using refilled cartridges, you know what I’m talking about. If you look back at all of the times that you ran out of ink, was it because you didn’t have the budget for it, or because you never found the time to have your cartridges refilled?
Now if you’re considering purchasing a printer with CISS, you might want to save yourself all the hassle, and go for the best. You’re already going to save a lot by getting a printer with CISS, might as well not go too cheap about it. This one was initially shared by Engr. Loquero. We sort of remember it because it struck us as one of the universal truths in life. With a bit of research, we found it via Wikipedia. Ladies and gentlemen…the project management triangle:
- Fast and Good can’t be cheap.
- Fast and Cheap can’t be good.
- Good and Cheap can’t be fast.

This is true even in the production of a printer with CISS. Our technicians are well trained…now I’m sure anyone who’s ever done some technical business would agree that training costs a lot of money. We’ve been getting a lot of requests for trainings on printer with CISS lately, and the amounts being offered are going higher every time. It’s all well received folks, and we are flattered with all the attention we’re getting in the technical community, but company policy states that we can’t train non-Danpro employees.
We took our time in training our techs but it doesn’t stop there. We also pickup and deliver the goods for our dear clientele for free. We even send out techs to deliver the printer with CISS so we can also install them for free, and troubleshoot onsite if needed. We do all this to guarantee quality for our clients. As far as we can tell, Danpro InkMasters is the only store in the Philippines with a one (1) month replacement guarantee and 2 months service warranty for a printer with CISS (yes, we really replace them with a brand new printer no kidding, although in more than 5 years of business, we’ve only had to do this once). We wish it could be a year, but that would cost us even more (why? Wanna contact us so we can explain? click here for our contact information).
What else do we do? We make sure that you are fully satisfied with our services, so your printer with CISS always looks brand new when it comes out of the shop. Why do we do this? We want you to know that we treat your investment the way we would want our own investments treated, with passion and care. Here at Danpro InkMasters, although “ink’s what we’re all about”, we go about it with passion and with lots of care.
